Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 03/09/2018

   Compared to the last special two weeks ago which was mostly yearling
cattle weighing over 600 lbs, steers and heifer calves under 600 lbs sold 
with a firm to higher undertone, steers weighing 600-750 lbs sold 3.00-
5.00 higher with yearling steers weighing 750-850 lbs on comparable sales 
trading mostly 3.00-5.00 lower over 850 lbs were not well tested.  Feeder 
heifers weighing 600-750 lbs sold steady to firm.  Slaughter cows sold 
steady to firm.  Demand was good with supply heavy on a nice offering of 
good quality feeder cattle with demand best on 450-725 lbs feeder steers 
going to grass.  Slaughter cows accounted for near 8 percent of the total 
receipts.  Feeder cattle consisted of 65 percent steers and bulls, 35 
percent heifers and 54 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
