Missouri Weekly Direct Slaughter Cattle (week end 06-07-2019)

Confirmed Sales:

Week to date: 320 Last week: 320 Last Year: 480
( These prices acquired from Missouri producers )

Trading from late last Friday through Friday morning remains light
as producers continue to see lower prices and bids with dressed grid
sales 3.00-4.00 lower at 185.00-186.00. Trade started Monday in the
Southern Plains with fed cattle prices mostly 2.00 lower at 113.00 with
trade in Northern Plains on Thursday at 114.00 Despite some good gains
this week in the cattle futures last weeks sharp break and plentiful
supplies with seasonal weakness coming for the summer months still paints
a bearish attitude. Traders continue to watch the direction of corn and
soybean market as corn prices will remain uncertain and continue to be so
for the rest of the growing season. Choice boxed-beef on Thursday closed
.14 cents higher at 222.25 and Select .02 lower at 207.16 compared to
last Fridays close with Choice at 223.21 and Select at 207.69. The hide
and offal value from a typical slaughter steer on Thursday was estimated
at 8.24 per cwt live .01 lower when compared to Wednesdays value.
