Missouri Weekly Direct Slaughter Cattle (week end 11-22-2019)  
Confirmed Sales:

     Trading from late last Friday through Friday morning of this week 
remains light with dressed grid sales trading steady at 188.00 and Flat 
prices steady at 186.00.  Pre-holiday snowstorm hit the Northern Plains 
and parts of the Midwest on Tuesday and Wednesday.  On Wednesday live 
prices in the Southern Plains traded at 118.00, 2.00 higher than last 
week.  Choice boxed-beef prices continue to see seasonal pressure, 
Wednesday Choice closed .40 cents higher at 232.24 and Select 1.65 lower 
at 210.64 with a Choice-Select spread of 21.60, compared to last 
Thursday�s close with Choice at 234.89 and Select at 213.86.  The hide 
and offal value from a typical slaughter steer on Wednesday was estimated 
at 9.10 per cwt live down .06 cents when compared to Tuesday�s value.  On 
this Thanksgiving week to note the average Thanksgiving meal for 10 
people will cost 48.91 according to the American Farm Bureau Federation.  
The most expensive item will be the turkey costing and average of 20.80
